Dental implant model with titanium post and crown in a calm, modern dental office

A dental implant is a small titanium post that replaces a missing tooth’s root, topped with a custom crown — the closest thing modern dentistry has to growing a new tooth.

Unlike a bridge, an implant doesn’t lean on the teeth next to it, and unlike a denture, it never slips. The post fuses with your jawbone, which keeps the bone healthy and gives the new tooth the same solid footing a natural root would.

At Village Dental, the entire process happens under one roof. Your implant is planned on a 3D cone-beam scan, placed by the same team that restores it, and finished with a crown matched to your smile — one accountable team from consultation to final bite check.

Why patients choose implants

The tooth replacement that behaves most like the real thing.

Looks completely natural

The crown is shaped and shaded to match your other teeth — most people can’t spot it.

Full chewing power

Eat what you like — implants restore nearly all of a natural tooth’s bite strength.

Protects your jawbone

The post stimulates bone the way a root does, preventing the sunken look missing teeth cause.

Kind to neighboring teeth

No grinding down healthy teeth for a bridge — the implant stands on its own.

Never slips

Fixed in place — no adhesives, no clicking, no taking it out at night.

Built to last decades

With normal home care, the implant itself can last a lifetime.

What to expect

From first scan to finished tooth — here’s how it works.

Consultation & 3D imaging

We take a cone-beam scan, review your health history, and confirm implants are right for you — including whether bone grafting is needed.

Your plan, in writing

You leave with a clear plan and an exact all-in price before anything starts — no surprises mid-treatment.

Implant placement

The post is placed in a comfortable, fully numbed visit — with laughing gas, oral or IV sedation available if you want it. Most patients are back to normal routines the next day.

Healing & final crown

Over a few months the post fuses with your bone. Then we attach your custom crown and fine-tune the bite — and you’re done.

Common questions about dental implants

Does getting a dental implant hurt?
Most patients are surprised by how comfortable implant placement is. The area is fully numbed, and because we offer laughing gas, oral sedation and IV sedation at every office, even anxious patients can relax through the visit. Mild soreness afterward is usually managed with over-the-counter medication.
How much does a dental implant cost?
A single implant at Village Dental typically runs $3,500–$4,800 all-in — implant, abutment and crown — and you get the exact number in writing before treatment starts. We also help maximize your insurance benefits and offer a membership plan that discounts treatment for uninsured patients.
How long do dental implants last?
With good home care and regular checkups, the implant post itself can last decades — often a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacement after 10–15 years of normal wear.
What if I don’t have enough bone for an implant?
That’s common, and it rarely rules implants out. We offer bone grafting and sinus augmentation in-house to rebuild the foundation an implant needs — your 3D scan at the consultation tells us exactly where you stand.
Can I get dental implants at any Village Dental office?
Yes. Implants are planned and placed at all four offices — Olde Raleigh, North Raleigh, Brier Creek and Wake Forest — by the same in-house team, so there’s no referral to an outside specialist.
