Plan Ahead
Your first dental visit checklist
A little preparation helps you use your appointment time well. Before your visit:
- Confirm the office address, appointment time and how long to allow.
- Complete your patient forms and bring the information listed below.
- Write down your main concerns, whether that is discomfort, a broken tooth or a change you would like to make to your smile.
- If you have insurance, ask the office to check your specific plan and explain your estimated share of the cost.
- Tell the team about dental anxiety, accessibility needs or anything that would help you feel more comfortable.
Will my first visit include a cleaning?
When booking, confirm whether your appointment includes a cleaning or is scheduled for an examination or a specific concern. The $97 offer applies to a basic routine cleaning in the absence of gum disease, as described in the offer terms. Ask how the plan and estimate would change if a different type of care is recommended.
What if I have not been to the dentist in years?
Start by telling us what has kept you away and what you want help with now. Bring your questions, even if you are not sure where to begin. Ask the team to explain the findings, treatment priorities and available options before deciding on your next step.
What should I ask about payment?
Ask for an explanation of the recommended care and your estimated cost. Review our insurance information and financial policies. If you do not have insurance, ask how the new-patient offer compares with the membership plan and which terms apply.
If you want to discuss sedation options, mention that when you book so you can review suitability and preparation with the team before treatment.

First-visit questions
Do I need to bring anything?
Bring your ID, insurance card if applicable, and an up-to-date medication list. Tell us about allergies and changes in your health. If you have recent dental records or X-rays, ask the office how to arrange a transfer before your visit.
How long does a first visit take?
Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours. That covers your exam, X-rays, and unhurried time to talk through what we found and what you want to do about it — we’d rather take the time than rush you.
I’m nervous about the dentist. What are my options?
Tell us when you book. Laughing gas, oral sedation and IV sedation are all available, and our team works with anxious patients every day. See sedation dentistry.
Can I be seen the same day?
Often, yes — we hold time for urgent patients. Call the office nearest you first thing and we’ll do everything we can.
