Build a career you'd actually recommend.

We're a sedation-first dental practice across four Raleigh-area locations — and we've spent two decades building the kind of place our team tells their friends to come work. Not because we have to say it. Because it's true.

Why we're different

A practice built for the people who work here — not just the people who sit in the chair.

Most "join our team" pages read like HR wrote them on a Tuesday. Here's the actual deal.

01 — Growth

Your next role is already on the map.

Four locations, 40 leaders, 1 million smiles — that's our practice's growth ambition, and it runs on people who grow with us. 23 of our current team were promoted from within in the last two years. Hygiene assistants become assistants. Coordinators become leads. Leads become managers.

02 — Culture

Anonymous feedback isn't a poster — it's a system.

Our HR team runs a structured anonymous feedback channel so staff can actually tell leadership what's broken. We hold a leadership retreat each year to act on it. Quarterly team-building. Monthly employee spotlight. Birthdays that don't pass unnoticed.

03 — Training

We run our own dental learning center.

The Carolina Dental Learning Center is a Village Dental initiative — dental assistant courses at little-to-no cost for team members. If you want to level up your credentials, you don't need to take a PTO day or pay for it yourself.

04 — Compensation

Base pay is the floor, not the ceiling.

Motivating and achievable bonus system — earn up to 20% of base pay through production-aligned programs that are actually fun to hit. 401(k) match that kicks in where it matters (dollar-for-fifty on contributions above 3%, up to 5%). Dental benefits for you and your family.

Our Vivid Vision

A safe, sustainable sedation model that will outlive us.

"We're not building the biggest practice. We're building one so well-run that our patients' kids still come here in 2055 — and our team is running it."

01

Worry-free sedation care

Built around paramedic-supported IV sedation — an industry differentiator that attracts patients who've avoided dentists for decades.

02

Everything under one roof

General, cosmetic, implants, sedation, oral surgery. Team members work on a wider range of cases than they would anywhere else.

03

Same-day treatment when possible

We respect our patients' time — and our team's. Systems built for efficiency, not endless rework.

04

Built to last, not to flip

No private equity, no exit timeline. The practice is being built to outlive the founders — which means stability for the people here.

From the Vivid Vision Document

The blueprint, in plain view.

We share our Vivid Vision openly because it isn't marketing. It's the plan — the one we use to make decisions, hire people, and hold ourselves accountable.

Here's a page from it. The whole document is 16 pages, and you can read it end-to-end before you even submit an application.

Life at Village Dental

Don't take our word for it.

Short films with the people actually doing the work — organized by the teams you'd join.

The Doctors

Why our doctors love it here.

A range of cases, genuine continuing ed, and a leadership structure that listens.

The Core

Our hygienists and coordinators are the core.

Respected schedules, real advancement, and the kind of team you tell your friends about.

The Life-Changers

Meet the assistants and paramedics who change lives.

The most unusual seat in a dental practice — and the most rewarding.

Career Pathway

4 Locations. 40 Leaders.
1 Million Smiles.

Our practices require 40 leaders. Those leaders come from inside. Here's what a typical growth path looks like — and how long each rung takes, on average.

— Step One

Entry & Onboarding

30-60-90 day structured onboarding. Paired with a mentor. Full benefits eligible day one.

Months 1–3
— Step Two

Role Mastery

Continuing education through the Carolina Dental Learning Center. Bonus program eligibility. First performance review.

Months 4–12
— Step Three

Lead or Specialize

Lead coordinator, DA II cert, hygiene team lead, or cross-location float. Invitation to annual retreat.

Year 2–3
— Step Four

Management Track

Office manager, regional role, or founder of a new location pod. Equity-path conversations open up.

Year 3+
Benefits & Perks

The stuff that actually matters when the offer letter comes.

Medical — UnitedHealthcare

Employer contribution subsidizes your monthly premium. Coverage starts after your waiting period.

Vision — Blue Cross Blue Shield

Annual exam, frames/contacts allowance, and vision-related discounts.

Disability — Aflac

Long-term and short-term coverage so a bad month doesn't become a bad year.

Dental for you and your family

Free or deeply discounted care in-house for employees and immediate family members.

401(k) with match

$0.50 on the dollar for contributions above 3%, up to a 5% employee contribution max.

Bonus potential up to 20%

Production-aligned programs — the metrics are clear, the payout is real, and hitting them is genuinely fun.

Referral bonuses

Know a great hygienist? A great paramedic? We pay you when they join and stay.

Annual raises tied to performance

Reviews that actually move your comp — not token cost-of-living adjustments.

Carolina Dental Learning Center

In-house DA and CE courses at little to no cost. You get the cert. We pay for it.

Annual leadership retreat

Not a ropes course. A real offsite where next year's goals are built — and you have a seat at the table.

Career advancement pathway

4 locations. 40 leaders. 1 million smiles. The math requires that we promote from within. So we do.

Anonymous feedback system

HR-run, truly anonymous. You can tell leadership what's working and what isn't without fear.

Two weeks PTO + paid holidays

PTO starts accruing at day one. Usable after 90 days. Paid holidays after year one.

Logo wear, on us

Branded jackets and tees — wear them at work, at the gym, at Costco. No one's judging.

Quarterly team activities

From our (slightly competitive) annual football game to team dinners — real connection, not mandatory fun.

Birthdays & anniversaries

You get seen. Birthdays celebrated. Service anniversaries marked. Employee of the month spotlighted.
