Dentures in Raleigh — Frequently Asked Questions
How much do dentures cost in Raleigh?
It depends on the type. A standard full upper or lower denture sits at the low end, partials with a metal or flexible framework fall in the middle, and implant-supported dentures cost more because they include the implants. Premium tooth shades and soft liners add to the total. We give you a written estimate before any work starts, and most plans cover a meaningful portion of full and partial dentures. We're in-network with Delta Dental Premier, Cigna PPO, BCBS Grid, and United Concordia Elite. Call (919) 205-4829 for a quote.
Which Village Dental location offers dentures?
All four of them. Village Dental makes full, partial, and implant-supported dentures at our Olde Raleigh, North Raleigh, Brier Creek, and Wake Forest offices. Pick whichever location is easiest for you and book there directly — each office runs the same digital workflow and works with the same labs. Call (919) 205-4829 or check all our locations to find the nearest one.
How long does it take to get dentures and how many visits?
A traditional full or partial denture usually takes about three to six weeks and four to five short visits — consultation and records, impressions, a wax try-in to confirm the look, delivery, and one or two adjustment visits. Immediate dentures placed the day of extraction are faster up front but need a reline a few months later as the gums heal. Implant-supported dentures take longer because the implants need time to fuse with the bone. Call (919) 205-4829 to map out a timeline.
Do dentures hurt?
The denture itself doesn't hurt. Impressions, scans, and try-ins are painless. If teeth have to come out first, that's done with local anesthesia and, if you want it, sedation, so the extraction visit stays comfortable. A new denture can feel tight or rub a sore spot for the first few days, which is normal and fixed quickly with a short adjustment. Call (919) 205-4829 if a denture is sore.
Will my insurance cover dentures at Village Dental?
Usually a meaningful portion. Most dental plans cover part of full and partial dentures, often around 50 percent up to your annual maximum. We're in-network with Delta Dental Premier, Cigna PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield Grid, and United Concordia Elite, and we verify your benefits before treatment so you know your out-of-pocket cost up front. Cosmetic upgrades and implant-supported dentures are covered differently than basic dentures. We do not accept Medicaid. Call (919) 205-4829 with your insurance card handy.
Dentures or dental implants — which is right for me?
It depends on your bone, your budget, and how much you want them to feel like natural teeth. Traditional dentures are removable, faster to make, and the most affordable. Dental implants replace the root of each tooth and feel closest to real teeth, but cost more and take longer. The middle path is an implant-supported denture that snaps onto two to four implants — far steadier than a regular denture and less than a full set of implants. We'll walk you through all three at your consultation. Call (919) 205-4829.
How long do dentures last?
A well-made denture typically lasts five to ten years before it needs a reline or a remake, mostly because the jawbone slowly changes shape after teeth are lost. Taking them out at night, cleaning them daily with a soft brush and a non-abrasive cleaner, and keeping up with checkups all stretch their life. We check the fit at routine visits and catch sore spots early. Call (919) 205-4829 if a denture starts feeling loose.
Am I a candidate for full or partial dentures?
Most adults are a candidate for at least one type. If you're missing all the teeth on an arch, a full denture replaces the whole row. If you still have several healthy teeth, a partial clips around them to fill the gaps. The only way to know which fits is an exam and a panoramic X-ray, and a few teeth coming out first or some bone grafting for stability doesn't rule you out. Call (919) 205-4829 to schedule a consultation.
Is there a denture dentist near me in North Raleigh or Brier Creek?
Yes. Village Dental makes full, partial, and implant-supported dentures at our North Raleigh office on Six Forks Rd and our Brier Creek office off Brier Creek Pkwy, plus Olde Raleigh and Wake Forest. Patients from Six Forks, North Hills, Brier Creek, and the RTP side all have an office close by. Call (919) 205-4829 or schedule online to book at the location nearest you.
Can I get same-day dentures if I need teeth pulled first?
Often, yes. If you still have teeth that need to come out, an immediate denture can be planned ahead and placed the same day the teeth are extracted, so you never leave without teeth in front. It's relined a few months later once the gums and bone settle. We keep same-day windows open daily for denture repairs and emergencies too. Call (919) 205-4829 to plan an immediate denture.
